Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

I, Andrea Buckland, the owner of The Creative Business, am thrilled to welcome you to my website. Your privacy is very important to me. This is why this privacy policy contains detailed information about what happens with your data when you visit my website at http://www.the-creative-business.com (hereinafter “my website”).

Collection, processing and use of personal data

You can visit my website without disclosing any personal information. Only non-personal access information (such as your internet service provider’s name, the referring page or the name of the file that you requested) is stored. This data is only used to improve my website and services. It cannot be used to identify you.

Personal data is only collected if you voluntarily share it with me when placing a contract or order with me. I only use the data you share (salutation, name, address, date of birth, e-mail address, phone number, fax number, bank account, etc.) without special permissions in order to perform my contractual obligations and fulfil the contract. I always comply with German data privacy law (including, without limitation, the German Federal Data Protection Act and German Telemedia Act) when collecting, processing and storing your personal data.

Sharing personal data

Your data is only shared to the extent necessary to fulfil the contractual relationship. To carry out payments, I share your payment information with the financial institution charged with processing the payment. Your personal data is not shared with any other third parties, nor is it used for advertising or similar purposes without your express permission.

Once the contract has been completely fulfilled and paid for, all the personal data that you have shared with me will be blocked to prevent further use and will be deleted once the retention periods required under tax and commercial law expire, unless you expressly consent to the further use of your data.

Data security

I secure my website and other systems by taking technical and organisational measures to prevent unauthorised parties from losing, destroying, accessing, modifying or distributing your data. However, it is unfortunately practically impossible to provide complete protection from all internet threats despite performing regular checks and using current technology.

Use of cookies

I use cookies on various pages of my website to make visiting my website an attractive experience and to enable you to use certain functions. Cookies are small text files stored on your computer. Most of the cookies I use are deleted from your hard drive after the browser session has ended (“session cookies”). Other cookies store data permanently and enable you, for example, to log in as a registered user without having to re-enter your user name and password. These cookies are permanently stored on your computer and enable us to recognise your computer the next time you visit us (“permanent cookies”).

You can stop cookies from being used to collect and store data in the future at any time by setting your browser to block cookies. In particular, you can set your browser to generally allow cookies, notify you of cookies and ask you to accept or block them on a case-by-case basis, or always block cookies. Blocking cookies may restrict the functionality of my website, particularly the online shop at http://the-creative-business.com.

Below is a description for how to configure Windows Internet Explorer 9 for accepting or blocking cookies on your computer:

Tools I Internet Options I Privacy I Advanced I Override automatic cookie handling I Confirm each option I OK I OK.

Once you make this setting, the browser will show a warning when you visit a website that uses cookies. Clicking the “Details” button will show the properties and content of the cookies. You can then choose to either accept or block individual cookies. Other browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome let you make similar settings.

Facebook button

My website also uses plugins provided by Facebook, a social networking site domiciled at 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. All of the Facebook plugins used on this website can be identified by the Facebook logo or the “Like” button. You can see a list of the plugins provided by Facebook that may be used on this website at the following official Facebook information page:

http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/

When you visit my website, the plugin connects your browser directly to the Facebook server and gives Facebook information about your IP address. If you click the Facebook “Like” button while logged into your Facebook account, you can embed content from my website in your Facebook profile in the sense that the “Like” button is associated with a link on my page, for example. Facebook will then be able to use your Facebook account to associate you with this visit to my website. I would like to make explicitly clear that I, as the operator of this website, do not know what data is transmitted to Facebook, nor how or to what extent Facebook uses this data. This information is available directly from Facebook. You can look up this information in Facebook’s official privacy policy at:

http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php

If you wish, you can prevent Facebook from associating your website visit with your Facebook user account by logging out of Facebook before visiting my website.

Twitter

My website integrates Twitter features. Twitter is provided by Twitter Inc., a US company domiciled at 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. Using Twitter and/or the “Retweet” function will associate the webpage you are visiting with your Twitter account. This allows other users to see what webpages you have visited. Data is transferred to Twitter in the process.

Please note that I do not know what data is transmitted to Twitter, nor how it is used by Twitter. The Twitter privacy policy states that widget data collected on the basis of website visits is deleted after a certain period. Visit http://twitter.com/privacy for more information.

You can also change your Twitter privacy settings at http://twitter.com/account/settings.

Google+

My website integrates Google+ features in the form of the “+1” button. The Google+ social networking service is provided by Google Inc., a US company domiciled at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA (“Google”).

When you visit a page on my website that contains a “1+” button, your browser connects directly to the Google servers. Google transmits the content and presentation of the “1+” button directly to your browser, integrates it into my website presentation and presents it in your browser.

I have no control over the scope or content of the data that Google collects through this button. Google says that no personal data is collected if the “+1” button is not clicked. Data is only collected, processed and stored on Google+ members who are logged into Google. However, I do not know what data is collected, processed and stored.

You can learn about the purpose, type and scope of the data, the further processing and use of the data by Google, your privacy rights and configuration options for protecting your data privacy by reading the Google privacy policy at: http://www.google.com/intl/de/+/policy/+1button.html.

If you are a Google+ member and do not want Google to collect, store or process data through my website or, in particular, to associate the data with your Google membership data, you will have to log out of Google+ and your Google account before visiting my website.

About Google Analytics

My website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc., domiciled at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA (“Google”). Google Analytics also uses cookies, which are placed on your computer to help the website analyse how you use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website and compiling reports on website activity for website operators. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google says that it will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. The “Cookies” section contains a guide to setting your browser to block and/or restrict the collection and storage of data with cookies. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Finally, I would like to advise you that           you can also completely prevent the data generated by the cookie and referring to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being collected and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser add-on available at the following link: (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en).

Please note that this website uses Google Analytics with the “gat._anonymizeIp();” extension in order to ensure that IP addresses are collected anonymously. Since IP anonymisation is activated on this website, Google will, however, truncate your IP address beforehand within the member states of the European Union or within other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and truncated there.
